United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

Tommy

If you fancy a daily watch, why not look into getting a kit to build one?

I have found a couple of sites (USA so far) which sell movements and the cases etc. and you can have kits which supply the movements in broken down form ( just like Range Rover Whistle )

So a bit of fun on a winter evening or two. Cheers
Richard

Like I need another project RJFF! But I’ll be sure to take a look. It could be fun to have a vintage looking piece with more modern internals…much like a 2012 L322! Rolling with laughter

I went off an on internet tangent and have been looking at Marathons, definitely a style I like. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

May I suggest you a Tudor GMT? It's all what you describe and yet some. It even breaks down every so often, to complete the experience Rolling with laughter

Had to send mine in for warranty work three times in 2 years. I can't find another watch that complements the FF as well Whistle

On a serious note though, it's s great piece and good value. And Rolex will fix it for you if it breaks...

Not the first time I've heard this about a Tudor watch, they make some nice looking watches that you can actually buy and don't come with the ridiculous Rolex customer profiling.

Another great offering, from Omega, which can be had at around 4K is the Aqua Terra 150 m.

Again, many thanks for all the responses, folks Bow down

I've decided to buy two watches. A good daily and then a nicer one for more special occasions. For the daily, I am smitten with the Marathon GSAR: https://eu.marathonwatch.com/collections/j...077288123. This is the first watch to have really got me going. The design really 'sings' to me. I love the brand story and sheer ruggedness of them - plus, all the reviews are favourable across the board.

I just need to decide upon the size, Large or Jumbo.

The second watch will probably be a Breitling or Omega now. But I've realised this process is just so in-depth and will take time to pin down the right one for me. I've been very taken with some of the pre-owned Breitlings, especially the Chronomats - and I am shocked that I like gold detailing...I am really enjoying this journey. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

You can't go wrong with the GSAR as a daily. I'd choose the L at 41mm as a more versatile size with more than enough wrist presence, still.
Since you seem to be discovering a taste for the gold details, may I suggest the new Sea Master 300 in steel and gold for your consideration?

It also comes on a bracelet. Price tag is rather hefty, especially on the bracelet but it's most likely available or with minimal waiting time.

Whatever you do, do not rush, there's no hurry in the process. It's all about the journey...

I have about 25 watches from a Tag Heuer down to a £4.99 Ali Express punt.

A selection of quartz and mechanical from the like of Eliot Brown, Aragon, Citizen, Xeric, Proxima, AVI-8, Maurice Lacroix, Phoibos, Vostok, Raketa and others.

I use my phone for many things but telling the time isn't one of them.

Anyone recommend the best way to get a breitling serviced?

Avenger Blackbird 44. Use it every day so it’s nicely worn

Go to the ‘Service’ section on the Breitling website, there you can dial-in your watches serial number and pull up the service menu options and costs. And I think where to actually take it or send it to. 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Happy to report my Marathon 'GSAR' 41mm arrived this morning! Very Happy Very Happy

It's beautiful. Built like a tank, and I am pretty sure I secured the last one in the EU! As it's now out of stock in most places.

This one uses the ETA 2824-2 movement which went into production in 1982. Very appropriate, as it's my birth year.

Thank you to @JayGee who led me to Marathon, albeit via the MWC recommendation Thumbs Up 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westminster - Baltic Blue, Jet interior

Christmas present from my better half. She's managed to combine both of my passions!

For an extra degree of nerdishness, look closely and you'll see that the minute markers at 19 and 48 are highlighted in orange.
