So, driving along the bypass this afternoon in torrential rain and suddenly the driver side wiper flips off the edge of the windscreen. Pulled over in a layby to move it back and its gone completely floppy. Doesn't seem attached to anything at all.

Are the spindles a known problem with these? Any particular gotchas to be aware of when I start looking in to this? Cars undriveable at the moment as a result so looking to get it fixed ASAP!

Curiously, you could really feel the wiper trying to work through the brake pedal when applying the brakes. That was somewhat worrying as I thought the brakes had a sudden problem too! 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

Was the wiper linkage.

Have searched and seen a few repair options but looks like the entire linkage needs to be removed to do the repair. Pita that. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'
