Alarm Triggers when car secure.

Last night my alarm went off three times (annoyingly) and when I checked the car this morning the battery was dead.

This is the first time it's happened to me and I used the car yesterday and it showed no battery issues at all.

I ran diagnostics on IID tool and it showed reason for last three alarm triggers as right left door, rear right door, rear right door.

So the rear doors are giving me some grief. I'm thinking i need to strip the doors and check the latches and the wiring to the pillar.

Anyone else ever experienced this issue or have any suggestions? Christian.

This is the display from IID.

The hood trigger was me testing the bonnet pin switch

The Alarm system has a battery backup.

As your battery was flat it may have triggered as the main battery voltage decreased.

Looks like something is not shutting down properly.

Same symptoms as mine last year & diagnostic showed spurious faults - turned out to be the module that controls the interior lights - as a temporary fix (still there !) I wired an ignition fed relay into the feed & it seems to be OK now.

You could try pulling the fuse that controls the interior lights to see what, if any effect that has.

How did you work out it was the light module and where in the car is that? Christian.

Hi Christian,

Process of elimination - pulling various fuses with a clip on ammeter on the battery lead to see if the car shuts down completely after after 15/20 minute.

Hope this helps.
