fold the rear seats, and stack them high, over the rear axle, try not to have any at the very rear, as the leverage will affect far more than the ones over the axle. p.s. ive had a complete jag xj6 engine, (iron block) with gearbox attached, and the dismantled engine crane, all in, and drove it from Newcastle to London, completely fine., again, engine, as far in as possible, and the gearbox tip against the boor door. |

this is one of my favourite FFRR things Folks would worriedly watch me load up and load up the car with logs, engines etc., then start the car and hey ho up she rises . Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Volvo V70 P2 2006 2.4 Petrol 170bhp Estate SE MG Midget Mk1 1962 Previous: L322 Range Rover TDV8 3.6 2008; L322 Range Rover TD6 3.0 2002; P38A Range Rover V8 1999 |

With my hi vis jacket on. Don’t forget to secure them properly, I’d suggest an improvised barge board across the back of the front seats in case you have to brake suddenly and as the other poster said as far forward as you can safely get them in …..and out again! |

Thanks for the helpful replies, but I've chickened out and decided to pay £20 for delivery. Anyway, useful hints and tips for future reference. 2011MY 4.4TDV8 Autobiography Baltic Blue

For £20, I think you've made a wise decision. It would be easy to do that much damage loading & unloading paving slabs.
