I always use cruise control on the legal speed.
But I can get bored and do things if the drive is too long.
The comfort and ease of ffrr is so suited to cruising.
I don’t move if I have cars to pass and if I am on the legal maximum speed.
If no cars ahead I am mostly in the middle. 2010 3.6tdv8 180k km.

One issue I’m seeing on the M1 is that people are using lanes 3 and 4 and not moving over as they’ve twigged there are camera covering lanes 1 and 2. Which is a little odd when lanes 1 and 2 are actually clear!?!

Slow progress I know exactly what you mean. They are the bane of my life and the UK is the worst for middle lane dawdlers. I drive all over Europe for a living and you hardly see it in the likes of Holland, Germany France etc etc. Very frustrating when you're driving a truck and have no other option but to undertake. Seems to me it's got far worse ever since they have introduced these stupid smart motorways, just gives them an extra lane to hog to sit and do 50mph. They are more dangerous than those who speed.

I had a dawdler in the outside lane of a dual carriageway the other day. The thing is they were coming towards me!!!

It's the idiots that don't know how to use them or, indeed, what any of the highway code means.

The issue is partly smart motorways. The other part is people not following the rules of the road.

The sections where the cameras are in the inside 2 lanes people avoid using. Where the camera are across all lanes you get people accelerating between gantries then breaking back to the speed limit. The design of smart motorways hasn’t taken into account human behaviour and attitudes, they need to be looked at again to understand the implications of peoples adjusted driving habits.

Therein lies part of the problem.

The cameras on those gantries only operate when a limit has been set on the gantry signs. At other times, they're inoperative.

Hey Kevin thanks, but my work is more specialised. I deliver aircraft, marine and cruise liner parts. I only keep the other forms of transport moving, so if ever you've been on a flight and had a bad landing then I'm sent out with new landing legs lol. Nothing more scary than an on coming car heading towards you, I bet that was scary. I should know, it happened to me in France 12 years ago, a French dude high on drugs smashed head on into me overtaking another car on a blind bend. And key me tell you this, it's nothing like what you see in the films, you life flashing before you, far from it. You just pull a stupid face and think this is going to hurt

I drive my car depending on my mood, sometimes I love to enjoy the performance but most of the time I love to just waft!

I drive at the speed limit, where appropriate, and dont worry about my fuel consumption as my car is a toy, a big toy but just a toy.

i too often drive to my mood & the time available.

Sometimes, I'm content to "waft" or amble along, making sure I don't get in other peoples way.

Other times, i driver with enthusiasm & purpose.

However, with the attitudes of some of the people on here I'm not surprised that many non-RR drivers consider us arrogant.
