Hi,
I can't see an 'intro' section, so I'll kick off here. I owned a D3 TdV6 (2006) for some years(2010-2019).
Briefly owned an F-Pace 25t, turned oud not to have a suitable driving position for me, eventually.
Traded the F-Pace for a D5 SD4 HSE Lux. I also had an F-Type P300 since 2018.
We had less chance to drive the F-Type off late. After a trip to the Algarve with the D5, I walked into the
dealership to tell them how happy I was with the D5, when my eye spotted the P400e (2019).
When I bought the D5 (in 2020), I already discussed that I wanted a hybrid. Early 2021 news came out there
wouldn't be a hybrid D5 ever. So I started talking about a RR P400e, probably the new model. After making some
configurations with the old model, I discovered the pricing was quite a bit higher (CO2 tax) then the D5,
so I abandoned the idea of a new Range Rover.
The P400e I bought now, has many options I would never choose due to the cost. Massage seats, laserled headlights,
audiotorium surround sound, the list is endless.
The first owner trades his car every two years. A used Range is not easy to sell when it approaches 100k on the odometer.
This has to do with company car taxation. Also used cars are not easy to sell; who takes out a 100k euro loan for a used car.
But I wanted to reduce the number of cars (we also have a BMW MPV).
All this made a very unlikely deal possible: I traded in the D5 and the F-Type on the P400e and got a refund as well.
I am now driving the car for two months. Quite happy with most, bit at loss about the logic behind the EV switch.
Tomorrow I'll post some questions I can not find an answer for.
Dan.
