Postcode issues in Nav…

Hi All… wonder if anyone else has experienced this Nav issue… sometimes when selecting the postcode option the icon dims once pressed (as if it were working) but then the system freezes… eventually it will return to Home Screen but the post code option always then freezes… lock up the car and try another time and all is well… strange! Did notice the other day that this seemed to coincide with phone not connecting too… most odd. MY15 if that helps…

I think so… I don’t seem to be seeing any warnings or experiencing any other electrical issues… is there a simple way I can check? Also, is there a potential software update I can check for? It does seem random… thanks in advance!

there are no software updates for this problem that i'm aware of but a call to a dealer might help..

the reason i suggested the battery is that if theres not enough juice going to the relevant ecus then it 'could' cause an intermittent fault.

you could try a battery disconnect ..it works on PC's.. Wink ... - .- -.

Stan - thought that I would post an update... plugged the car into a CTEK recently and got the battery up to the green led...so far the postcode issue seems to have been fixed. It seems you were right! If anyone else experiences weird electrical issues I'd recommend connecting a charger... stop/start worked for the first time too! Thumbs Up

I’m having issues with touch screen but only on sat nav, phone and Audio. Those buttons to the right of the screen light up when pressed but then nothing, and Home Screen shows those affected but not lit up. Did you experience this with your touch screen? Have now replaced both main and secondary batteries after ‘low battery start engine’ warning appeared. I was hoping the battery issue was connected with the touch screen issue as voltage drops can give rise to other malfunctions, but it hasn’t cured the touch screen malfunction.🙈
Did you disconnect your battery before charging?

Hi Friendee - no, just connected up the CTEK and tried again once I got the green LED after an overnight charge... I've used the car several times since (connecting back up to the CTEK now and again) and no issues on the nav as reported earlier, the whole system seems more responsive too... it all seems to be behaving itself... I did see your post on the other thread and wondered if you had low battery but now you've replaced them that's unlikely (mind you, I have had duff brand new batteries too)... I would recommend getting it onto a charger though, that'll tell you if you're running out of juice prematurely and if you know you're fully charged then that's at least one variable you can rule out... Thumbs Up

Hi Friendee - it is a battery charger manufacturer... I bought one after the reviews on here mentioned that they were pretty good and because Stan mentioned that the intermittent electrical gremlins I was experiencing could be due to low battery. I think most of the range give you a visual set of LEDs showing what cycle they are going through - I bought the MXS 10 but a lot of people rate the MXS 5 too which has similar features but really any decent charger which gives you a 'battery fully charged' indication might help at least rule that problem out.
