i find it fairly easy to 'tuck' the cables in the trim...

this pic of my sat nav shows where the cable went, and you can go one side with the power cable and the other way with the usb cable.

Conwy tunnel is closed today on one side,
Just going to Llandudno for my booster jab, so I was pleased to avoid massive tailbacks on A55.

I have only used Waze on a short local trip, just really to check it works OK, but I am going on to Anglesey on Friday so will give it a longer test run, but it will have to be really good to beat the clarity of Apple Maps.
Nice to have the choice though.

I got mine from USA, but had to pay import duty, so eBay probably a better option.

I have given Waze a good try-out this morning, but reverted to Apple maps for my return journey.
I suppose it is down to personal preference, but I can’t fault the Apple maps , very clear, early turn instructions, and very helpful traffic problem info.

I did wonder if the phone signal would react badly to slow down Nav display, but pleased to see it is equal to any GPS Nav I have ever used.

For anyone who can accept the second screen approach to get Apple CarPlay, this is the answer

It was my visit down to the L.R. show at Gaydon in my sons defender that prompted me to try and find a CarPlay unit.
He has fitted a combined radio and flip screen unit but until you mentioned Intellidash I couldn’t find anything suitable, so thanks are due to you, Stan.

Stan,
Please let me know if you see a spare power lead with the correct type plug for sale anywhere.
I have got ideas to wire in a better power feed but don’t want to butcher the cigarette plug lead that came with the unit.
