I was on the motorway the other day and I was sure that as I was driving along I could see the bonnet wobbling up and down very slightly. Never noticed it before.

I pulled into an MSA just to have a check. All was secure but I did notice that the offside of the bonnet had a bigger gap than the nearside, so appeared to have somehow gone out of line? Sure enough, pushing the bonnet on the offside there was a fair bit of bouncy movement.

I am assuming that this can be adjusted but how did it happen?

Can it be adjusted, has the bonnet warped, any ideas?

Are you sure it was properly caught on the catches both sides ?

Mine does this occasionally, if the bonnet has been open & closed again. Opening it & giving a proper slam fixes it.

Funnily enough I thought the bonnet on my car looked out of line when I walked past it earlier, but there are no warning lights etc on start up. I’ll go out in the morning and do as Alastair suggests to see if that sorts it

Mine used to do this. Wd40 on the hinges and on the retaining clasp, good as new  Kev

Ditto ours did this occasionally, dealer said “they all do that sir” think it’s drivers side on ours. Dealer adjusted it and greased it. Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8
