United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

I'm not sure what's causing it.

Last night I swapped the blades between driver and passengers side and the fault followed the blade so I'm sure it's not the screen.

The rubber doesn't appear to be split upon inspection. It's odd on mine, they clear the screen going up but miss a big patch on the way back down right in front of my eyes.

Just bought a set of generic aero wipers from ebay (thought it was worth the punt for £9) but having the same problem.

The quality of the blade and the rubber wiper all seems fine, but they just dont flex and follow the curve of the windscreen glass as well as the traditional type ones, so im getting a patch of glass on the drivers side that isnt being wiped.

Ive tried bending the blade to help it sit better on the glass but all it does is move the patch. Ive also swapped the blades from driver to passenger side and the patch is still only on the drivers side.

Our windscreens have quite a complex curve to them. On a windscreen with less of a changing curve they would be fine, and for the bits of screen that they do follow the wipe very well and very smooth.

The ones I took of are 5 years old and have gone hard so are chattering accross the glass, but even so its noticeable how they still flex enough for the rubber wiper to follow the shape of the glass across the full sweep.

Lesson learnt, will by a new set of traditional type ones.

Ordered a set of HQ and installed them on Saturday.

I don't rate them at all. They don't wipe properly and they slap on the drivers side a pillar.

I'll be replacing them with proper Bosch sometime soon. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

If you can find a part number for Bosch flat blades that fit can you let me know please?

I like the flat blades on the car but like you, am not at all impressed with the HQ ones.

If they're hitting the pillar, the blade isn't the problem. They're either loose on the arm or the arms aren't set correctly on the spindles. Paul,

The blades I took off didn't do it and they're definitely set on the arm correctly.

I think it's just these blades - they don't seem particularly great. 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE - 'Black Betty'

I gave up today and ordered a set of Bosch 808’s from Amazon for less then 20 quid inc delivery.

Annoyingly, I can’t find the bits that you remove from the arms when fitting the flat blades. As the wiper arms on my car were rusty around where they pivot when you’re lifting them off the screen I used it as an excuse to buy 2 new wiper arms from Duckworths.

I’ve tried 2 different sets of Bosch ones and they didn’t fit so I lost patience in the end Laughing 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

My new wiper arms arrived on Saturday morning and the Bosch 808 wiper blades arrived this morning.

I’ve swapped them both over and am pleased to announce that my wipers are now absolutely silent and are clearing the screen perfectly. Bosch 808’s can be had for around 12 quid a set on eBay so I’ve bought 2 sets and will keep one on the shelf in case they don’t last that long or the other car needs a set.
