United Kingdom 2013 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Baltic Blue

A point to note regarding the 3.6 and its turbos: there is a 2nd sump drain plug that is often neglected to be removed during an oil change. The 2nd drain plug drains a small reservoir that is used by the turbo oil drains and if the oil isn't drained from that reservoir often enough then sludge could accumulate which could then block or severely restrict the turbo oil drains.
The 4.4 has the same reservoir used by its primary turbo and whilst the 4.4's sump isn't fitted with a main drain plug because oil is expected to be sucked out, the plug under the reservoir should be removed at least every few oil changes.

Hi

Not sure I've ever seen this second drainage plug on a 4.4. where about is it - if you can describe. Thumbs Up 405 AB exec seats Baltic and Cirrus

Australia 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Bournville

It is a 14mm bolt located above the rear subframe cross-member. The small quantity of oil drops onto the cross-member..
This is on the L322 but I don't know if the L405/L494 SDV8's sump has the drain, being a different sump.

My 2004 TD6 tows a 1.5 tonne Caravan perfectly well, it is remapped, and surprisingly quick for a big motor, biggest improvement i have done is retro-fit the paddle shift, drives great, choose what gear you want, plus gearbox electronics "learn" driving habbits. and with an Android headunit, you have all the modern tech you could want, phone, dab, usb and bluetooth play, dash cam monitor, reverse camera e.t.c. Engine has been super reliable over 6 years, and parts are very reasonable now. No gearbox issues for me, yet, but at 136k now, i would think it will have been changed by now, had the oil changed when i bought it. Have modified front indicator lenses to remove amber, took years of it.

United Kingdom 2009 Range Rover SE TDV8 Stornoway Grey

I’ve had both. We owned a 2002 TD6 from 2009 to 2019. It was on 80k miles when we bought it and I towed a twin axle with it from 2011 onwards.
The transmission went bang in 2019 on 147k miles. Up to that point it had never missed a beat. I changed bushes etc every couple of years until I discovered genuine parts lasted a lot longer!
I got a refurb transmission fitted in order to sell it easier as no-one wanted it at the time as a non runner.

From then, I bought our current one, the 3.6 TDV8. Nearly three years on I’m still happy with it although it’s been more problematic than the TD6. Similar to the TD6 I bought it on 87k miles and it’s now on 109k. It goes bong every 100 miles or so which is annoying.
This may be the last L322 we own now as we are now two models behind with the new one out and it does feel a little old. Some modern day small cars have more features than ours! 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded
