Apple CarPlay radio unit

Gents,
My son has fitted a similar unit to this link into his Defender and now uses Google maps as his satnav.
It is obviously not suitable for my L322 due to not having a radio slot to fit it in, but I am just wondering if anyone is aware of a similar product where the screen is separate to the radio box and connected together by a plug in cable ?.

I know some wouldn’t be happy to spoil their L322’s by adding the extra screen on some sort of temporary bracket/mount,
but my thinking is the radio box in the glovebox and the screen on a phone type mount.

Has anyone seen or got such a product ?

Pete,
I agree the Naviplus is the ideal solution and several have fitted and got them working well,

I did buy the unit thinking that I would be able to manage to fit it, but the more I saw how difficult it was I got cold feet and decided it was beyond my capability so sold it on to someone who was able to fit it in his 2011/12 L322.

Gents,
I have bitten the bullet and decided to buy the Intellidash CarPlay unit.
I recognise this for many owners will be a no no because it adds a second screen, rather than updating the existing head unit as the Naviplus kit does., but I just know that option is beyond my technical skill level, whereas this installation will be pretty simple ( hopefully Bow down).

I will add details to this thread when it arrives , and detail it’s fitting.

Often wondered if a suitably sized cheap android tablet in a clip on or hinged holder over the dash screen would be a workable solution if it can display android auto from my phone. Still not happy with my mobile phone holder solution on the Brodit clip next to the screen. 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I've tried the tablet route...downloaded the AA apk and connected my phone to the tablet...nothing happened.

I've also tried having the tablet tethered to my phone to give me maps which kinda worked but the maps were slow and coulnt keep with the road..this could have been the crappy tablet though....

i think these dedicated stand alone jobbys might be the way to go especially how cheap they are... ... - .- -.

I have got to wait for a longer C type to lightening cable in black to arrive before I can finalise the fitting, but it certainly works ok .
I have just done a test journey using Apple maps, only problem so far not getting turn by turn instructions, but that will be a settings problem on my phone.
Music and phone are good using the Aux input socket in the rear.
