Accelerator - floor mounted?

Ignore the image as it’s flipped for some reason but looks like the accelerator for L460 is floor mounted. I wonder if this is just for the BMW engine as it’s definitely a BMW thing??

The more I see the steering wheel the more I am sure I dislike it.
Why anyone would think adding hard cold metal where your hands will go is appropriate, clever or stylish is beyond me.
The lower 2 spokes look unbalanced, ugly and in the way.
I dont understand why it needs the grove all the way around but it looks uncomfortable.

For years the standard criticism for trying too hard was they are re inventing the wheel. Confused letters not necessarily in the right order

I am not sure why you would hold the steering wheel with the metal bits.

I doubt they metal anyway. More likely to be silver painted plastic.

With regards to the accelerator pedal, I've never really thought about it - While the L405 is not floor mounted, I'm pretty sure the L322 is.

I previously owned an L405 and L322 together for several years. I used to frequently jump from one to the other and never even noticed a difference - Although I probably will now Smile Smile

Do some people notice a difference in terms of comfort between the two?

I have to say I agree with dislike for the look of the steering wheel. Just read a Clarkson review in The Times of the Hyundai Genesis. Perhaps horrendous steering wheels are (no pun intended) the direction of travel…

The two spoke wheel is everywhere now! They're all at it and I'm sure it will age these models quicker!

The “floor mounted” pedal is called a piano style and it reduces fatigue.

All BMW’s have it. I’ve owned loads of BM’s and can’t remember one without. Christian.

Craig I am relying on you to be able to supply and fit an alternative. I realy like the wheel on my 2016.
The fact that the wheel was not round was part of the reason for not having a DBX. letters not necessarily in the right order

That two tone wheel looks like it's got a cheap black cover over a worn pale wheel....

Who comes up with this Censored Pete

This is a very quick edit using my finger on my iPhone so it looks awful, however, I can’t help but think the L460 steering wheel looks much better without the silver bar across the bottom of it.

I wonder how long it’ll be before aftermarket versions start to appear.

Oh, it won't be long! I'm pretty sure Simon @ Powerfuluk has a 460 on order so it can be stripped and scanned so, to be the first to market with upgraded parts!

I’ve bought some bits from Powerful before and have been following his YouTube channel. His dedication and attention to detail when creating these parts is great.

He’s got some really interesting stuff covered on his channel too. Thumbs Up
