L322 TDV8 EGR delete kit

I have viewed a number of posts with respect to the physical blanking of the EGR valves that do not require (but may benefit from) electronically mapping out.

Can anyone recommend a specific kit, and/or supplier please ?

(I’ve tried eBay, but might be using wrong search criteria)

3.6 or 4.4?

Much easier to do on 3.6 I believe.

My mate has a 3.6 kit for sale.
4.4 should not be blanked or your DPF will make you pay Rolling with laughter Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It’s the 3.6. My not be required as far may have passed away 🙁

Thanks Wayne.

I see you have a 3.6, and previously a TD6 3.0
How would you compare the 2 ?
My brief experience with the 3.6 V8 tells me they’re prone to issues and extremely check complex for a reluctant home mechanic.
Whereas the BMW straight 6 would appear less sophisticated and therefore less prone to malfunction and easier/cheaper to fix when they do.
Would that be fair ?

The TD6 is a very reliable well tested engine, but the gearbox is made of chocolate. It’s a much less modern engine than the TDV8, noisy and way less power. You need to drive one of each. TD6 wasn’t bad in it’s day…. I had one, but it’s old now.

I had the TD6 for 6 1/2 years and have to say it was easy to maintain and cheap to run. I sold it for what I paid so almost free motoring. Apart from a test run before purchase the TDV8 has sat in the garage unused but yesterday became my daily driver and WOW the engine is so much more refined and of course powerful. The cabin is much quieter. As I did the EGR delete before really driving it I cant compare before and after but the wife said whilst following on the trip home there was a puff of black smoke on hard acceleration, now there is none. The tick over on the initial start-up was a little lumpy, now super smooth Time will tell on reliability, the TD6 never let me down and took me on some very long and remote trips 2007 TDV8 VSE

If your looking at a car to maintain at home then of course the TD6 is easier. Find one with a fresh'ish gearbox then all the better BUT, buy a 3.6 that has had the turbo's changed and has a good history, you will be owning a jolly nice 322 sir... Thumbs Up
