I don’t see the automatic door operation in any of the specs or options (not that I would want it). I assume this is SV only for the time being?

Just going back to this point, I did see one of the JLR L460 Promo videos earlier today, it showed the automatic door operation in action and stated above in text, that this option will not be available until early 2022.

With that in mind, do you think that additional features like this could be added to the range so soon after launch, or do you share my opinion that it will likely just be an SV option only?

JLR are always adding bits and changing things. If you wait for one thing there will always be something else around the corner.

I don't think the doors will be SV only because they appear in the video on a non SV. Did you notice all the sensors in the base of the doors which are presumably for this? I think they look quite ugly all down the side of the car.

I didn't notice those 5.0 - They don't sound particularly attractive though.

To be honest, I'm not sure I'd want this option anyway. Automatic closing doors is one thing, but automatic opening doors sounds fraught with danger. Probably more trouble than it's worth.

Plus, I'm guessing you're going to have to explain to everyone who travels as a passenger in your car, exactly how the door handle operates - Would probably get a bit annoying after a while!

I would certainly want to make sure there was the functionality to switch them off and use the doors normally if they turned out to be more of a hindrance than a help. I am too impatient waiting for the rotary gear shift to rise on the 405 so the door closing slowly is probably not my thing either but I will be interested to see it in action.

Just been on the configurator to see if the 3D CCTV system that was mentioned earlier in this thread could be ordered but it's not there, just the same front and rear dash cam that was an option on the L405.

Wonder if that is another coming later option ? anyone hear anything about that ? 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I normally put something on the seals but I wonder what will happen when you get a serious frost with the auto opening doors. From the video, it appears they only open slightly, but do the door ECU's detect when the lock has been released but the door couldn't move.

Sadly I believe the 3D CCTV comment was a translation issue from a French publication where the info came from. I believe it’s actually referring to the 3D surround cameras…

Ah thats a shame, the Tesla sentry system has caught countless incidents whilst the owner was away from the parked car. Its seems daft not to use the cameras that are already there in the car. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Agreed, I like the shadow pack which improves the lower trim look against the black lights / trim. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

Shown in Charente grey with the Shadow Pack. But which wheel?

Currently I'm thinking the grey contrast wheel rather than the black, as it matches the shadow pack.

Spoke to the dealer today and delivery will be up to 12 months. I'm thinking Sept 22 earliest.

I'm not a black pack person, but if I was I'd go the whole hog and go with the black wheels Thumbs Up Thumbs Up

Does this video at 6.47 minutes help Phil?

I'm struggling with the same issue. I think shadow pack is the way to go but I don't really like black wheels. Hopefully I will get to see one with shadow and diamond cut 23s before I have to commit to a final spec.
