Mobile phone holder

What’s the best way to fit a mobile phone holder, not onto the windscreen. Fed up with my FFRR satnav, want to use Google maps instead, but no signal if I place it in the central cup holder. 2013 SDV8 4.4 SE Luxor.

Brodit do clip on holders which sit to the side of the touch screen on the wood surround . I have one and get a signal no bother.

Pete, Haylands, posted a photo of one he had made which was similar to the Brodit (but obviously cheaper Very Happy ).

If you scroll through this thread you will see mine and, later, Pete's.

3rd vote for the Brodit. Still want to extend mine down a bit as at this height anyone outside the car can see you touching the phone which means 6 points and £200 fine....... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

As an alternative to the posts above, take a look at this…
https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07Z8RSR91/ref...1ESGPY7EMY

This is for a magnetic attachment (such as the newest iPhones) but it’s the sticky base I want to highlight. I have a similar one installed on my car (I cannot find that model at the moment) and I stuck it to the curved trim to the right of the radio.

On my car it’s secure and in just the right place for me to see when driving, and easy reach when I need to tap the screen.

Removal would be easy, except for cleaning up the goop afterwards… but ultimately would look untouched. Plus no dismantling of anything needed! Thumbs Up

It’s dark, cold, and wet… so I’ll take a picture another time for you! Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Actually, I have an old picture of my dash I just cropped…

As you can see I have also squeezed the iPhone cable into the trim gap which hides the cables. It was meant to be temporary… but to be honest it works well and generally it’s not noticeable. Currently driving: 2012 L322 SE Overfinch 4.4 tdv8

Does in front of a vent count ? It's the only way I could find to not require drilling

Mines a Brodit one - they have custom clips for each vehicle - then attach whatever phone holder you like

It’s just a mount, so still needs a phone holder, but will fit perfectly and cause no damage when removed.

I’ve added a holder that includes wireless charging, so all I need to do is put the phone in place and don’t have to plug it in.

Brodit do not appear to list the L405 clips any more 🤷‍♂️ I’m looking a good holder for an iPhone.

Strange, definitely not on the UK site. Mine is a 2013. I’m interested in knowing what my options are.

Thanks 👍

To consider, change the screen, and then you'd have Maps and wireless CarPlay and not need to put your phone in a holder.

Thanks Gary, that looks good. I tried CarPlay and I’m not a fan.
