Gearbox flush

Thanks to Bodsey for his quick response and flushing not only the gearbox but the transfer box and diffs. Bow down

I had not realised how clunky my gear change had become but it is now so smooth I can hardly feel it change. Another job ticked off! 2019 Autobiography SDV8 Byron blue/black - current

What’s the recommended (by Bodsy!) interval for an L405 flush? He did my old D3 and it was like a new car.

Cheers

Thanks Mikey (as in DiscoMikey?)

Sounds like a trip to Ian after the winter is required. 53k and already starting to feel a little sharp. Transfer cases etc being done on the next service in a few weeks time as well.

Cheers

Andy

Going rate for a gearbox flush?

Hi all, Just wondering what an 'appropriate' or reasonable price would be to replace transmission oil (2015 SDV8).

From a local gearbox specialist I've been quoted:
£50 per litre - 9 litres required
£193.39 - gearbox filter
£120 - labour

Total - £763.39

Sound okay?

You do need to be careful that you are comparing like for like quotes, a genuine ZF filter and oil will always cost a lot more than so called “equivalent” bits.
Only you can decide if the saving is worth the risk.

Noted with thanks chaps. I'll take your advice. I'll check my quote is for 'genuine' parts/products and then get a couple more like-for-like quotes. Keep it oem as far a possible.
