Hi all
I had that problem with the ignition switch that wont turn. Since then, I use that mod with the fuse 18. I read somewhere that some people use emulators to bypass the ignition. I saw some emulators on Aliexpress for several brands except for Range Rover. There is one for the BMW Series 3 and 5 for 30€. Someone had the experience with this?
There is a company in Turkey who sell dedicated RR 2001-2009 (BMW ideology) for 80€

The column is not the same as the BMW's of that era so I guess the electrics are different as well... Pete

Yes, it works, at least for 2002 to 2008; their claimed MY range of 01-09 is wrong. I have one currently installed on mine. I had ordered it as backup when I had my lock repaired. Finally decided to fit it and preserve the lock which is not an absolutely necessary feature anyway...

For peace of mind:

Should you decide to fit one of those, if you can, have the lock work first i.e lock and unlock before unplugging it.

I found that a good whack with a rubber mallet on the steering lock box did the trick when mine was sticking...
