Anyone ordered one of these?

It looks so useful I'd like one for my L322.

It reduces (slightly) the amount you need an umbrella.

Assuming you get someone else to put it up for you.

I bet you won't get far with a lead that short..... Whistle

Can't say I like it but I expect it will grow on me... apart from that afterthought of a stick on iPad, who designed that, sat back, and said, that looks good...!!!! Pete

Please elaborate.

There were rumors about “all BMW engines” in the L460, as well as of BMW engines in Jaguar products that will never see the light of day.

In the end, we got the N63TU3.

There was never any suggestion of all-BMW engines, the V8 has been in the offing for a few years.

I’m interested in the D350 which on paper has similar power to my existing TDV8. Good torque figures for a 3 litre and reasonable on consumption.

It was Craig who was saying all BMW engines.

It always seemed unlikely given JLR had just invested heavily in their own straight sixes but I'm sure Craig posted it in good faith, and to be fair there is an engine/electrification agreement between BMW and JLR.

I have now seen this in the metal and I have to say, in person rather than in photos, this things looks amazing. It looks MASSIVE, but reading through the dimensions its only a cm here and a few cm there.

The rear light cluster is very clever... with the car off it just looks like black trim but they come to life when the car's on. The front is the most familiar looking but it's just more modern and tidier somehow.

A small thing, but the rear tailgate, similar to before, but operates noticeably quieter and smoother. The dinky gear stick feels really nice in the hand and the new steering wheel spokes seem to work well (haven't driven this thing, obviously) and it seemed smaller in my hands than the L405 wheel. The AB seating controls seemed simplified, and the speakers a bit classier, but otherwise the door cards have a familiar look and feel. And there's a touch screen in the rear centre armrest on AB! Fancy.

The PHEV will be available from Q2 2022 and gone is the 2.0, replaced with 3.0 straight sixes and comes in a P440e and a P510e (have I got that right?) formats. For now I priced up a V8 525 AB with £5k of options and it came to under £135k (a similar spec L405 would have been £122k or so, I think, so not. massive premium given the improved tech and platform). Four wheel steering is standard on all and the AB gets signature tunes, HUD and rear e-diff as standard. But you have to pay £1275 for cabin pre-conditioning/FBH!

The vegan-friendly trim is actually sort of nice, but I cannot believe it could ever feel as luxurious as semi-analine leather. There's no Espresso leather anymore. Gutted, I love the chocolate brown, but at least the new tan (Caraway or something) no longer looks orange so that is a plus. And leather headliner with fixed roof is now an option, finally.

Anyway, get a look at this in the metal hen you can, it's worth it. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Thumbs Up

I’ve surprised myself by actually liking it (apart from the stuck on iPad).

Question is, would I be brave enough to be an early adopter guinea pig?

I am glad it is not only me who thinks the stuck on iPad thingy is silly! Not only does it look like an afterthought but if you are tall it seems it will hide some of the other instrumentation.

This badly thought item alone would stop me spend north of £84k on the new FF. For that sort of money I want something I really like. But the stuck on "iPad" thing would annoy me every time I used it. Evil or Very Mad

But like the OP, I do quite like the rest of the car. 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

So, important question, is the twin sun visor still standard? be a shame to have lost that?

I notice the accelerator is same as L322 floor mounted.

Also what the offset and wheel size of the 23" Style 1079?
