Actually, it was the reverse for me. I knew it would be crap with a whole load of media types and then Gerry spouting off about design in the most abstract way. What I found hilarious was him quoting Coco Channel 'Some people think luxury is the opposite of poverty. It is not. It is the opposite of vulgarity'. This from a man who completely Rooneyfied the L322. They'd also lined up a load of celeb's, almost all of whom I had no idea who they were, although they could definitely pose. It then improved when they went on about the technical aspects of the car and had Jimmy Carr and Rob Brydon on, although they didn't have any jokes, then they played that awful annoying music repeatedly. So to continue the football analogy, it's a bit like you know you're going to loose. You find out at half time you're doing even worse than you expected, having conceded four goals. You concede another after the break. Then you get one back, only for it to be ruled off side by the VAR, and then have a man sent off. |

You're right, security has definitely been a major issue. My insurers LV eventually refused to insure my last one. They made the decision as a company not to insure Range Rovers anymore.

No it was like watching an episode of Tellytubbies with fat little McGovern in his ridiculous white trainers droning on in his Brummie accent about minimalist reductionism or maybe it was reductionist minimalism, who knows. Big disappointment for me was hearing next to nothing about the technology, in particular nothing about the engines except a fleeting reference to the new PHEV engine. Maybe I'm a luddite but for me, the engine is the heart of every car and I'm not really interested in the fact that the steering wheel is covered in sustainable recycled goat penis skin |

He did refer to it as a Chariot...A chariot for ladies and gentlemen, but I've spent ages on the configurator but can't find this option, I know they offered them on the Classic...don't believe me;

I think it looks very good, a great 5th gen Range Rover! A P440e AB in Portofino blue or Carpathian Grey with Perlino interior, clear glass and 23" wheels would have been nice !

The car itself, IMO, is a win. I think it looks really rather good - I couldn't really fault it - which is odd for me!

No, but one of the reviews I saw yesterday (either Carfection, Harry's Garage or Carwow, can't remember which), suggested a possible £15k premium for the PHEV!!! |
