Can you confirm that the PHEV version will have a 6 cylinder engine? Petrol or diesel? When will it be available because its not on the configurator yet?

Looks like two petrol options - both 3.0 6 cylinder Petrol:

P440E & P510E which I assume are the BHP figures. 2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB
Gone 2011 Bournville TDV8 VSE

I can answer my own question because its on the website now. 6 cyl petrol in 2 versions, 440e and 530e available to order in early 2022

530e sounds quite interesting and so does 62 miles of electric range (call it 50 miles then). And 50kW fast charging which makes it chargeable on a journey too

United Kingdom 2012 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Baltic Blue

As amazing as the interior probably is to be in, I’m not feeling the love on the exterior although it might be different in the flesh.

I was kinda surprised to see them using a hearing aid beige interior on the launch event too.

Does anyone else see it as an L405 facelift?

The Classic to P38, P38 to L322 and L322 to L405 were noticeably “All New” Range Rovers just to look at. This one IMO looks like a facelift to the L405 with new toys.

I’d like to see one in the flesh… however, this is the first RR launch I’ve seen where I’ve not said “Wow… I want one” Sad

Just watched Simon & George from Powerful who were live streaming on YouTube . Very entertaining , must admit, makes my old Luxor 2013 look very fashionable. Think it looks great, away to Fanny about with the config.

Bargain at £148k.... Rolling with laughter

Yup the new car is certainly a very conservative design considering its a brand new model. I'm guessing the average man in the street won't notice the difference between the new and old models although maybe thats an advantage depending on your point of view. I bet there are a few L405 owners who will be thinking whats the point in changing especially when you look at the pricing. Just done a quick configuration on a basic SE D300 and with a few 'essential' options the price is over £100k

Okay so…

At the Event, I ordered a First Edition P530. First Edition and Autobiography derivatives will be delivered first from March 2022, with the former prioritised. SV will follow later next year. IMO, the SV proposition is really confused - no exclusive engines and some really strange use of white ceramic! I was told pricing for SV is c. £50k higher than First Edition as a starting point.

Note: the ‘Vogue’ derivative has been completely dropped as has SVAutobiography. The former has been replaced by SE and HSE.

If anybody has any questions, I’ll do my best to answer now I’m allowed to!

The problem with the First Edition is the lack of colour and wheel choice. Think I will have to go for Autobiography spec.

First Edition is designed to be an easy build for them I think as options are limited. AB will be later so depends on whether you’re fussed about one of the first or not.

How big are the headrests!

As for Gerry, he’s the reason I wouldn’t buy my 7th FFRR! But I’m sure I will eventually Smile

Harry’s garage review is great. MY23 D350 HSE

Seems to me that it’s a little bit “me too” in the “let’s go minimalist”.

I’m happy to buy my own iPad. I don’t need one stuck to a plank in my car.

Is it just me, or is anyone else struggling to happily co-ordinate the look of this car, with the paint colours offered on the configurator.

It seems that all the hues have been selected by JLR, to ensure that they pair nicely with the black / shadow pack, but try and create are more elegant "traditional" look, and I'm really struggling to make it work. I'm also not entirely sure, at least for me personally, that it's possible with the colours on offer.

There's Belgravia Green, but I'm not sure about that shade. Portofino Blue is a bit bright, then there's British Racing Green but to me, this ultra modern look doesn't seem to sit right with a colour of heritage, it just looks a bit confused.

There's Capathian Grey or possibly Elger Grey, but it all looks a bit dull on the configurator - Maybe in the metal one of these may look better.

Hakuba silver is the closest I can find to what I'm looking for, but again, unlike Indus Silver, Hakuba is a colour which normally seems to be paired with black accents on other JLR products if you look on Google images.

Also, with those black lights at the back, try spec'ing Santorini Black and the whole thing looks like it's been pimped - Add Shadow Pack and you're there.

Unless I'm missing something, It also seems that if you want the Autobiography spec, you can't remove privacy glass, unless this can be done by the dealer.
