Recall

Finally got around to visiting my local stealers today to give them my VIN and see if there were any outstanding recalls on my car. It only needs the front diff doing!! Booked it in for a few weeks time. Let's hope nout happens between now and then. FFRR TD6 HSE

You know what they say about fixing things that don't need fixing....................... 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

It may be fine now but I'd rather get it fixed than have issues at a later date. It's obviously a common problem due to it being a recall. Plus it's all FOC!!! Smile
Obviously if they Censored anything else up while they have the car they can fix that as well Smile

Go ask em Stan!! Thumbs Up FFRR TD6 HSE

And you will get 12 months warranty on the new diff as if it is being down by a franchised dealer 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

its not the diff they change, they just change the front prop shaft and put a universal joint on the end that goes into the front diff, the prop shaft end that attaches to the transfer box already has the UJ on it and at the diff end the shaft just went into the diff, thats what causes the problem, the new UJ on the diff solves the issue.

Unless your UJ has been misaligned in the first place then this recall does not need doing. Unless you're in your first 30-50,000 miles then this is NOT preventative maintenance.

Doing so has lead to other problems such as drivetrain vibrations and diff seal leaks - all of which will not be covered by the dealer because they will deny all knowledge.

The amount of people who have collected their car to find the steering column broken after having the diff work is absolutely unbelievable! I caught the mechanic holding the adjuster down on mine to jam the mechanism, they then wanted £800 to repair!! After saying they never touched the column and I drove it there with it on the floor!

Yeovil LR are a bunch of Censored
