Sounds like a bearing type joint breaking up maybe? I'm not sure what they call it these days, used to be a CV joint, or known as a Wheel bearing in normal cars I think.

Well, one week on and 2 days in the local Land Rover dealer and still the same problem. The drive shaft has been changed and apparently there was a recall/mod on the early LR322 models which involves modifying the front diffs. Not sure if anyone is aware of this. This was thought to be the cause of the problem, but no

Yes, was a well documented problem with the BMW transmission - front diffs/final drives req'd modifying...
