Aja500, I agree, obviously too early to make any judgements, but;

In general I have a hard time marrying tech and luxury (as I define it). No car manufacturer has nailed it in my opinion. The 405 is up there even though 3 years since last update. Bentley have come pretty close with their rotating screen which I think is masterful.

A shame to me, that LR seem to have gone the opposite way with this... RR Vogue 4.4 TDV8 - 11
Toyota Land Cruiser Prado - 02

LR Discovery 4 SDV6 -11 - Gone
RR Vogue 3.6 TDV8 - Gone

The rear end looks modern and fresh. It's a shame the front and interior hasn't moved on at the same pace.

Think the reality of screens is that they’re becoming too big to integrate - maybe the Rolls Royce approach is better?

It’s much cheaper for the manufacturer to perform a LCI with the tablet approach. Traditionally they need to redesign the dash to include a larger screen etc.

Good riddance to the lower touch screen!

I’m waiting to see it in the flesh on November 4th.
I don’t like the rear end, neither am I fond of the IPad stuck on the dashboard like an afterthought.
L405 looks better inside and out in my opinion.

I will probably change my present car in 2 years time and that is about the same amount of time it will take for me to get used to the new model.

Don't like the front grille, looks like a Ford, and they've lowered the back so it's nearer the Evoque. As for the "Tablet screen", it's ugly compared to my car, and as for the gear selector. All looks to be aimed at JLR's main market.....China!!

There just doesn't seem to be any nice "innovation" in new car designs, they're all beginning to be too "samey". Bit like the BBC, all cookery and housing/gardening programmes......where's the innovation? Big Cry Big Cry All LR cars from 1984

As well as the photo's they also had some details on the engines. Whether that's speculation or not time will tell.

United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV6 Loire Blue

Well, I’ve just spoken my local dealer - Marshall Land Rover Lincoln (3miles away, and purchased our ‘17 Vogue SE from them)

Smarmy get, told me he doesn’t know anything and even if he did he couldn’t tell me anything…..fair enough “could I be put on the list to view the car when it arrives?”

“Not really as we have customers who have already deposited on the new Range Rover”

“Oh, ok then” click…….

And this confirms our decision to go over to Porsche was the right one - JLR are welcome 🖕🏼🖕🏼👋🏻

French Leak

I wonder if JLR are really that bothered about a leak like the one alluded to in the magazine article above - it seems to get everyone talking about their new product ahead of the offical launch. Maybe they leaked it on purpose, who knows? ---------------------------------------

They will be bothered, especially when some of the leaks are unflattering snatched phone pictures - imagine the effort and cost that goes into a launch. The pictures of the white car at the factory also appeared on Pistonheads early yesterday - the thread didn’t last long, but they were already being circulated…

The original thread disappeared very quickly and the ability to comment on the news article was removed.

Yes, that wasn’t the original thread. Which has disappeared.
