Feel good today

Not much to say really but did 2 amazing things today that have left me with a good feeling. 1st was to give blood again , and 2nd was to get myself on the bone marrow donors register. Something i've been meaning to do for a while and have finally done. Very Happy

Good for you!

And judging from that picture of your wife on your avatar I can think of a third reason too! Range Rover-less at the moment - Pining!

Thanks for donating bone marrow Thumbs Up

I have a type of cancer called Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma and one of the treatments that will prolong my life at some stage is a bone marrow transfer.

Seriously, well done Very Happy

+1 Mick, best move I made 12 months ago.
One thing I find a little dsconcerting with MAC's though is the thrash bin - I'll click secure empty and see say 6 items in it and then when the progress bar starts it says deleting 8305 items Shocked Doesn't seem to effect the performance though!

I bought an iMac 27" 17 months ago and was a little sceptical at first, but it was so easy to synch with my Windows laptop and recover everything on that that I wanted to, whereas transferring windows to windows was a nightnare for the non computer savvy types. When my Sony Laptop gave up the ghost in February I had no hesitation replacing it with a MacBook Air with the solid state memory. It is a bit heavier than my sub-notebook Sony and has a bigger screen but it's brilliant.
Can also recommend signing up for mobile me and the iDisk as I can share my files now between iMac, Macbook, ipad and iphone and my old Sony when it wants to play. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

Agree Stan. I give blood regularly but not on the BM donor list. I do also give the blood platelets every so often which takes longer and is mildly unpleasant for a couple of hours after but I figure it's way less unpleasant than what the poor sod on the receiving end of what I donate is going through.

Big respect to all who do give though. Just wish more was done to encourage a larger number of people to do it.

Mind you, an amusing little tale from my past. I lived in Leicester and worked in London. Train journey each day. So I am registered in Leicestershire to give blood. Do this regular as clockwork. Anyhow, one time I can't make it so I donated in London during lunchbreak where I ended up on their register as well. This was before they were all hooked up to the national register. So now I'm giving blood in 2 places on the same schedule, or twice as often as they recommend if you prefer. Until they found out that is Laughing Laughing Did that for almost 3 years but got a serious telling off by one of the nurses when they discovered it. Not really planned, just happened that way. Embarassed

Sorry for taking the topic off topic Rob,

I used to be a blood donor but as a regular visitor to Malarial areas in my travels the Scottish Blood Transfusion Service will no longer accept me without a 6 months gap between going into a Malarial area and donating, unless they have a dire shortage of my blood group which is rH O neg which they can give to anybody. So if you travel overseas a lot to places with mosquitoes then you should check that it is safe to give blood - much of north Africa, Middle East, East Africa, Southern Europe, East Coast and Gulf coast of the USA have malarial mossies so you have to be a bit careful, but I'm sure that the centres check where you have travelled to before they take your donation. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes
