Can you check all the hoses once the engine has warmed up and let me know which ones are hot and which ones are cold.

AHA, that could explain a couple of things. The single changeover valve is probably not fitted to your FFRR as it was an optional extra on the HSE models and was only fitted if you had the remote park heating installed, so the problem will most likely be with the double coolant valve. By the sounds of it, the internal rubber washers have perished and are stopping the coolant getting through to the heater matrix. I'd replace the double cooler valve, as it's also possible the electric solenoids might not be working properly.

And is that optional valve on the left side of the engine?

Yes, that's correct. I only realised when I looked through one of the older workshop manuals and realised that the changeover valve (the one on the LHS of the engine bay) is only fitted if you have the remote parking module fitted. The HSE model wasn't fitted with the remote park heating module as standard, therefore if the module hasn't been specified as an optional extra, then it won't have the extra valve fitted either.

I've been watching this thread with some concern as I was convinced my heating system was not working as I was being blasted with cold air with very little heat when the AC was on and when I turned it off it was too hot. Then I noticed a small wheel with red and blue on the control panel ........ 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322) |
