Servicing the brakes.

My local garage flushed my brake fluid and changed the PBS fluid also. They changed all four front brake nipple bolts i supplied after one bolt had broken off and they sent the calliper off for repair. Fair enough and back on the road. However the rear bolts were not changed at the same time. My question is would it be possible for me to just clamp the feed hose and grease and I fit the new without further ado or would another bleeding of the rear be necessary. Anyone managed this change without another bleed needed? What do you think.
Its a good garage who I don't want to embarrass on this.

If you are quick at changing the bleed nipples and you don't clamp the hoses just let it run, a minor bleed at each rear corner should be fine. Messy but should be OK as long as the resivoir does not get below minimum. You can bleed them yourself with an assistant to push the pedal and your good self sat with a jam jar and a length of pipe doing the dirty job.

As above, just remove the bleed nipple put your finger over the hole and remove to screw in new nipple. Any fluid coming out is a bonus as it stops air getting in. I've often bled brakes by undoing a bleed nipple and simply letting gravity cause the fluid to flow out, works surprisingly well. Thumbs Up

Many thanks you two. Experience always helps to reassure as I was hopeful it could be done. Since posting here I have come across something helpful as well. Seems that you can now bur a non return valve and pipe on the market which are not expensive but worth having in the tool kit. Thanks again and I'll give it a go! Bow down
