I had a very similar problem with a aftermarket key! I sent it back to Boyd at pixels fixed and he synced it to his Range Rover for the central locking and tailgate which it did then sent it back to me I then tried it and it synced 1st time!

Cheers Ian, ( That was quick )I did wonder about the number of keys synched and wondered about a limit, but my diagnostic reader did not give any info like that. Hence I do not know how to delete old keys. Thinking about it, that may be the way to go. Maybe I need a better diagnostic tool, or have to go to a dealer or specialist.

Code readers may sync but won’t code keys to cars. And generally won’t be able to retrieve security codes for them either.

Thanks for your time and info gents, much appreciated, I realised that the code reader could not sort out the keys, and it looks like you are right, I will have to have the old key entries deleted, so to speak. Next job to find an auto locksmith in my neck of the woods who can do this. That way I can get two new flip keys at the same time.

Just be prepared that they shouldn't be travelling from Scotland at the moment And they are not according to their website, and their 'tour' has been postponed several times for obvious reasons.

Possibly. I had 4 police cars, six officers and a helicopter within about 6-8 minutes of me calling 112. I left it to them, but they were already gone. Some of my equipment was encrypted and tracked and it did ping up. I managed to locate the street and houses and guided the burglary team there but they couldn't get a warrant sadly. I then bricked it remotely and made it useless to them. And recoded all the keys they took. Never seen them again except for a phone that ping'd home 30 miles away on Christmas day...I bet little Johnny had a surprise when his 'dad' gave him that one only for it to display 'This is stolen and the police has been alerted to your location'. I never saw it come online ever again 🤣 Good luck with the keys |

Some of the old style keys do not support the learning mode of the EWS system and need to have their remotes hard coded. The keys actually have 3 separate things - 1. A key blade to fit the lock barrel 2. A transponder to unlock the immobiliser 3. The remote for the car's convenience functions (I.e. remote unlock).
