Scotland 2008 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Stornoway Grey

Nice to see that you are getting along with your RR, Denise. They are a bit of a steep learning curve at the beginning as they have their own unique Whistle features. With the diagnostics and your son's capability you can look forward to some serene motoring.

Not that he needs me to defend him, but Pete (Haylands) has very extensive experience on these vehicles and isn't at all snobby.

Bon courage John

Sorry, wasn't meant to offend or be snobby... just setting it out like it is..

I read your initial post as you being someone who wanted to run a very complex vehicle on a shoe string, that seems not to be the case from your later comments...

They are complex cars but I've never had anything I couldn't fix myself and I'm not a mechanic...

Download the workshop manual from the WIKI and read it like a book, a bit sad and the ending is really bad but you will get to know a lot about your fatty which helps a lot to pin down faults...

I to would love to see some pics of yours, the first 2002-2005 models are the best looking IMHO..

Good luck with the fix.... Thumbs Up Pete

A friend of my late Dads had bought it for his wife who didn’t like it. It was stored in his garage for 14 years, kept warm and battery on charge etc Smile it only really went out for its yearly MOT and service.
It felt like a new car, the back seats had never been sat on and the boot never used, I love it.
I think I do need a new Bluetooth module so I can use my phone whilst driving, had some problems so I had a google and (think) I bypassed it, I joined the fibre optic wire outside of it.
Other than that & the current problem it’s a dream. I’ll take some pictures tomorrow and post them.

On the fix, we’ve got the pump and hopefully he’ll get it fit if he finishes on time on Thursday 😊 oh and I’ll check out that wiki thanks

Nice, an early 2nd gen L322 then.. search rusty sills on here and you can see where is best to do some preventative rust proofing, should keep it well for years... Thumbs Up Pete

Second on the pics request, I thought I was doing well with my 2006 at 96000. As for 39k, now green with envy

Good decision to join this forum, it's by far the best FF info source. Thumbs Up

Hope the fuel pump swap fixes your trouble, for once it is an easy cheap fix, unlike other problems with these
cars. Mines currently giving me plenty of grief Censored Banging Head

As For Haylands being harsh and snobby, he is actually a Gent with LOADS of FF knowledge. But you have to remember, he is from Yorkshire Rolling with laughter

Merchy I’d not comment on the Yorkshire Man, I’m actually a Cumbrian living in Co Durham, proper Northern lass
Lol
😁
Glad I joined the forum too, had a look at the wiki pages last night which were really useful. Using my phone at the min so might be why some pictures were missing, I need to log on using the laptop to get a proper look 👀

Thanks all for your advice & comments 🙏👋

Matt who runs Range Rover Owner Club on Facebook will definitely be interested in having your low mileage car at some 2022 shows. I'm a member and been to a few shows. Not a case of being snobby or up their own back side bit range rovers require a bit of knowledge to make them work properly as well as for the most efficient price possible. No one wants too spend unnecessary wedge on them so your best taking it to a specialist who can identify any issues easier then Joe blogs down back street garage. I've seen it myself with a friend, mechanic kept stinging her for new parts that he never even replaced. The fault? Wrong pressure cap

A plus one on the FFRR complexities causing headaches. Despite being an older Whistle marine engineer, with lots of car experience, I know how easy it is to fire the parts cannon at it.

The real pain is the situation where you fight like hell to get some bits off, THEN...... as those bits are now off, one starts to think, 'ahh well' I might as well change this and that whilst I am at it, to save a job later Whistle

Denise... Just as well you are a Cumbrian, if you had said Lancs, that could have started something Rolling with laughter
Hope you enjoy the fatty, it really is a superb example.

I had a problem with the car just bogging down under load but still drivable at light throttle. Turned out to be the in-tank pump. My advice if you plan on keeping the car would be to change both the in-tank and outer rear fuel pumps along with the fuel filter. 2007 TDV8 VSE

Ryan changed the fuel pump under the rear passenger side and we’re good again, looks like that was the issue.
Thanks everyone for your help & advice!!!!!
Very Happy
