Hi Folks, odd one here that I cant find a specific answer to on older posts.

The power raise for the lower part of my tailgate just stopped working (2013 L405). pressing there button causes it to drop down smoothly, as usual, but pressing it to raise the tailgate gets some whirring noises from inside the car, but no activity. Trying to close via the top tailgate button or the remote does nothing, they dont response un less the lower tailgate is manually pushed closed. I do get a twin beep from the top tailgate button if I press t.

Tried to reset the tailgate by pressing the button for 20 seconds (tried on upper and lower buttons) but to no effect.

Any suggestions on anything else to try? I have about a week left on the warranty, so the timing is pretty good in that respect.

Sorry I can't help - mines been like that for a couple of years & I just kind of got used to manually closing the lower part.

Could this be the cause?

Hi try pushing lower tailgate button and while it is trying to shut manually push lower tail gate shut.
Then push upper tailgate button to close upper tailgate.
Then use key to open tailgates as per normal.
This should put all back in right order.
give it a go hope that fixes it.
