I’m kind of not feeling it. The wheels are absurd to my eyes. I wonder if going for a slightly older vehicle at the same price might result in a more authentic and satisfying experience. But specific to the ad, there’s not enough details to form a full opinion, as I’d need to know number of owners and details of service history just for starters.

With a predicted mileage of less than 5K a year I would avoid a 4.4 tdv8 with its DPF. The DPF won’t thank you for lots of short journeys. If you’re just doing long journeys then fine

I ran a 3.0 TDV6 RRS for 9 years from new doing 37k miles and I only got a DPF amber warning maybe twice and it regened fine. I did need the turbo actuator replacing in year four. After that I switched to premium diesel and then later in its life I started using Archoil diesel additive. It ran so sweetly. So you can run a diesel on low milage but take precautions, I would say, to minimise the risk of issues. Taking it for a good blast every couple of weeks is also recommended! I like the wheels but I would check that they have the correct load rating, many aftermarket wheels don't. I think they should be at least 940kg per wheel. |

Interested to see the comments particularly about the 3.6 over 4.4 for shorter mileages/journeys.

Thats an interesting thread.. Was looking at a 3.6 but recently been put off after hearing about potential turbo issues with them. Therefore was thinking of increasing budget and going for a 4.4. However, im only doing 12 miles in each direction every day for work. Would you therefore suggest the 3.6 is better for that kind of commuting? (24 miles a day) Cheers! |

Unless the 12 miles includes a fast road that gets the engine up to temp and exercises the turbos, you might want to look at a petrol! The MPG in my 3.6 drops to very low 20s if just knocking around in short trips like that. |

3.6 better…..? Not in my mind…. I’ve done 2500 miles in 2 years in my 4.4. No issues, just make sure you give it a good blast out and the odd longer run for the DPF to regenerate.

How has your 4.4 been over the last few years? What you suggest are the main issues I should look out for when buying / maintaining? Many thanks! G |
