The marketplace seems to be fairly limited to predominantly cars with around 100k miles on them. There are a few low milers with optimistic prices but hardly anything above 125k miles. Are the values now so low for higher milers that owners just keep them or are they just not reaching that age? I have reasoned the 4.4's are a safer buy past 100k than the 3.6 with regards to engine and gearbox and likley have remaining common issues sorted out by previous owners.

Thankfully I'm not in a rush as my current car doesn't 'need' replacing. It will be interesting to see what the impending ULEZ expansion in London throws up onto the market.

I was looking to change my L322 to a L405 earlier this year, but prices have gone up for both models in the used market so the difference to trade up is now much higher.

Ie earlier this year it was my car +£20k to move to similar spec L405
now it's over £25k to make the same switch.

Not worth it, I'll hold on to the L322 for another 12-18 months and see if the (crazy) used car market gets back to reality

I was the same with the Capri and RS Turbo Escort…. Went in a slightly different direction, so never happened. Can’t afford to now 🤣.
