L322 RR ABS sensors all the same?

L322 RR 2008 3.6 tdv8 having trouble with rear ABS sensors . Part number listed for the 3.6 tdv8 SSF500021 (Supplier confirmed this is correct part listed for my Vin). They do not produce sufficient signal; have tried 4 new rear sensors. At a loss I tried a front sensor in the rear and voila ! The system is happy and reads the same speed on all 4 wheels. Can bus faults have also cleared. Just have to splice front sensors to rear cables. But would prefer the correct parts to work. Have measured resistance of all sensors with a DMM forward and reverse polarity and found.

Front 11.5 / 21.8 M Ohms

Rear 0.6 / 0.7 M Ohms

Any idea's?

Thanks, I used for the front SSF500011 (green) and SSF500021 (blue) for the rear. But the rear did not function. So ordered another set. The originals on the car were all green. Are these the correct numbers? Remembering that the TDV8 uses a different ASB module to the petrol engine vehicles.

I cant tell from microcat if those are the correct numbers as mc lists an item number, not the part numbers.

A look on ebay suggests the numbers you've got are correct. Almost all of the sensors on there, front & rear, have green plugs. Are the blue ones you have a different brand to the greens?

don't believe what ebay tells you , I fitted abs sensors years ago according to ebay and they were the wrong ones , they change from diesel to bmw spec to jag s/c specm , best to order correct one by vin number

The "faulty" ones were supplied by Britpart and All makes. front green and blue rear.
My previous vehicle had blue ones front and rear made by Siemans but the did not work in the tdv8 either
there resistance was 14/43 M Ohms

I wonder if it might be more important that the sensors are consistent with each other rather than the values they give? Would be interesting to see if there is any change with 4 sensors from the same brand.

That's where I started on this project. I used all Siemans sensors from my petrol vehicle.
