Got a Mitsubishi PHEV for my work car. The beeping from the tailgate as it opens/closes could wake the dead. A real PITA. There are even threads on forums describing how to silence the b*ggers. So be careful what you wish for. |

Sorry to join this thread after a period of time, but I have had the same injury caused by a JLR tailgate.

I find getting out of bed in the mornings a huge risk........but still I do it.

Not entirely surprising…. Dear JLR, I hurt myself, would you mind admitting liability so that I can follow up with a compensation claim ? |

It’s happened to me a couple of times, the dogs run under the rear bumper and trigger the tailgate Sold - Bell a 2015 MY16 Loire Blue Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

It’s a nuisance in the field. My own dog and several others have triggered the gesture tailgate.

I'm 6ft 5 and have done it twice and it makes me feel sick thinking about it. Once at the petrol station while quickly putting something in the boot and another time while washing/drying the car. Both times the boot was static and the blood came streaming down my head with the force of it nearly knocking me out. I still have an indentation in my skull. Nasty stuff.

I switch between an L322 and an L405 regularly. Always catch my head on the corner of the L405 and never on the L322.

I disabled gesture tailgate after a donk on the head. Carrying a full head of hair, of any colour, or an artificial head covering mitigates the severity of injury. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso |

I wonder if the new Mk5 RR will be better designed in this regard? I'm guessing the upper boot length will need to be shorter with round edges and pitch up higher. 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel
