shield for front diff td6

I was going to change the oil in the front diff today, but the shield that covers it,the bolts dont want to undo. Evil or Very Mad
Have sprayed them with some lanolin(dont have any wd40).
In Rave, they dont mention the shield so was wondering if anyone has left it off after they have changed their oil in the diff.
I,ll spray it with lanolin daily until I get under there again next week.
Did the back diff earlier this week, no probs doing that one.
TIA

Recently manages to get mine off, but will be going back on with all new fastenings, try a small impact wrench to shock them free. I wouldn't leave it off, especially if you are off road or on any dirt roads, it's only plastic but it is amazing how much punishment it takes and still protects the stuff above it.

Thanks Merchy.
I,ll get my rattle gun out to free them.
Will spray them first over the next few days tho to hopefully loosen them up.

I have done it few times without removing the shield. Used 14 hex and spanner. For filler, there is enough space to operate with bigger tool. There was also magnet inside drain plug. Use the plug to guide the oil flow otherwise it will be everywhere.
Luckily on mine front diff bolts were much easier(less nm)to open than rear diff and trasferbox bolts.
