Sat nav again…….Solved

Gentlemen, another problem with a sat-nav.

The sat-nav works perfectly, only suddenly I can no longer select a country.
There should be arrow keys on the left side of the screen, see photo. These have suddenly disappeared.

Now I only have this row in view and can't select, say Germany,

although I'm sure they're on the DVD and Ive seen it before.
Anyone have a solution?

Thank you in advance for your time and attention.

Done so far
- hard reset due to the battery
- start up again with a 2015 original dvd
- cleaned the laser eye with a cleaning dvd

Piet

Seeing as you've done the basics, have you tried cleaning the actual disc itself? A damp cloth in a circular motion and dry with microfibre. Worth a try.

Thanks for your reaction and tip Sir.
No didn’t do that, its a almost new dvd, 1 year old.
So no scratches, dirt or damp on it. Tried to find
something in the hidden menu and ……nothing
Its so strange, I’am in Germany now and everything
works. The sat nav know where it is, she is showing
the maps, villages and even the street names.
Except, I cant put in a destiny in, because I cant select
Germany on the list. And I’am sure its on the dvd and
Ive seen it before. So very very strange.

Perhaps find someone locally to try their disc in your car and your disc in their car? Would at least narrow it down between car / disc.

When you mentioned starting it up with the 2015 disc, does that work ok and does it show Germany?

I believe the sat-nav discs are regional but surely the region containing Netherlands & Czech Republic also contains the country in-between?

Have you tried reading the disc with a PC? When I had an early petrol L322 in Bahrain the disc occasionally wouldn't work. I managed to get it to read on a PC and was then able to burn another disc which worked well. If the disc from your car does read in a PC it would be interesting to see if the file structure indicates the included countries.

Thank gentlemen for your reaction an thinking along with me.
Problem is solved. Ive start the sat nav up again with a
original 2015 dvd, did a reset on the settings in the hidden
menu and after disconnecting the battery heh……..result.
The whole list of countries including the arrow buttons are there.
Than I put the 2019-2020 dvd in again and …….. no Germany.
Than I put a 2017 dvd in ……… yes the whole list is displayed.
So the theres a bug in the 2019-2020 dvd.
No I drive trough Germany on a older dvd, 2017, ah wel
sh.. happens. But I’am happy, I’am know the cause now.
Thanks gentlemen….
