If it cures the fault, then money well spent. If it does nothing & the problem is much deeper, then you’ve just wasted £300-£400. Dilemma for sure. If that were me, I’d have Bodsy come down & mega flush it. Must admit, I haven’t read too much agro with these 8 speed boxes, that doesn’t help you though 2012 Orkney Grey Westminster 4.4TDV8 with Ivory interior.........nice!

I have had similar on mine on rare occasions, in the same circumstances. Mines now on 72k and had the oil changed last year by a ZF approved specialist. He says under no circumstances do a flush according to ZF. It would be good to know what the truth of this is. |

I'd suggest that a diagnosis from an auto gearbox specialist would be a lot cheaper than a megaflush. |

I doubt very much if there will be any faults logged. The symptoms are not bad by any means and most people probably wouldn't notice them (my Wife has never noticed). It's just a very gentle shudder on odd occasions that I know shouldn't be there. Drives:

I would expect a diagnosis by an auto transmission specialist will involve more than just a fault code scan. They will be familiar with all kinds of drivability symptoms. |

Oil level was fine. My prop centre bearing carrier is worn so it wobbles around - might be that 1995 4.6 v8, green/tan (long gone) 2005 4.8iS X5, blue/black 2011 4.4 tdv8, black/black (gone) 2003 3.0d X5, Oxford green/black/manual 2021 p575 SVR, BR green/vintage tan |
