Hi all,

My hitachi compressor finally gave up the ghost and I’ve swapped for a 3 year old AMK I got.

I swapped it and the wiring over and flashed with iid tool the firmware to amk
Amk.

That’s where the troubles begin I didn’t swap the relay but from what I can see if it’s working they are the same for hitachi and amk? Correct me if I’m wrong?

Anyway firstly it get HOT is that normal? Around 85degrees reported and touching I’d agree.

Secondly it’s behaving all wrong at idle in park with the engine running if I press down on the air suspension control the front jacks up and it says extended mode? It keeps doing this and I really don’t know what to do…

That temperature was filling an empty reservoir it’s now peaking at around 70c not sure if that’s normal or not? Also the behaviour had sorted itself out - I had noticed that the blue and white wires coming off the pump were reversed on the other side of the connected so I swapped them it didn’t make much difference what is this for and do I need to swap back? Current stable:

What I did and what is recommended is to replace the relay as well when changing the compressor don`t know if that will solve any problems as it`s only a switch?

I replaced mine with a Dunlop only lasted 14 months Ended up buying an AMK which is a part exchange part at JLR?

I think I fixed it or rather just crapped my pants for a bit and it all worked.


From what I think is that it was on the bump stops and I fired it up and it ran for about 30 seconds I pressed down it went up but I don’t think the reservoir was full. Panicked it looked like the blue and white wire were the other way around on the old one so I snipped and joined but from what I understand it’s a solenoid so would make no difference which it didn’t.

I then went on a drive and it got upto 85c and I crapped my self it was going to die or melt but then it stopped I got to my venue down worked as it should. As I left it blew back up got to about 70c then guessing it didn’t need as much air then.

I’ve since been out and it’s been fine, although still on the hot side.

How hot should these run?

On a more positive not the amk seems to be a damn site quieter than the hitachi I’d say 90% quieter!! Current stable:
