Hi all, the other day I had the problem with the black smoke on hard acceleration and changed both intercooler hoses which cured the issue.

I've read on here that it is the trim at the bottom of the screen come loose and it needs sticking back down. |

+1 on the trim at the bottom of the window. Not personally experienced, but read that a few times.

Thanks for the replies, I checked the bottom of the screen and all seems fine. We have another 3.6 in the family and compared to that one both scuttles are the same so probably not that. I checked the cabin filter and the cover was a bit worn and slightly twisted meaning only two of the four retraining lugs were ok and two weren’t tight to the flap.

Mine did exactly this the other day. I cleaned under the lower part of the windscreen seal and put some 3M VHB tape in between the seal and glass. Obviously cured it as I had completely forgotten until I read this post and realised it didn't do it today. |

Just a quick update to say no humming noise from the front of the car or whistling through the air vents. Was asked if it was time to get something else as I’ve had this car longer than any other, simple answer is no ! If I changed cars it would have to be another Range Rover for sure. I wouldn’t mind an old defender as well as the Range Rover just for the fun of it though. There is nothing else out there apart from Landrovers that I fancy owning, definitely a convert now |
