CD changer

Afternoon all

I'm having problems with the cd changer on my 2003 vogue

Basically it won't eject, there's no error lights or anything but when i press eject there's a faint whirr and nothing happens

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mine did this a while back - I pressed it about 10 times and eventually it spat it out. A disconnect of the battery for 10 mins can also reset it so it'll eject (eject it with ign off I think)

Thanks for your replies

I've tried pressing it about 30 times in succession, tried it also at various points today with ign on, off and radio on/off

There's no discs in there according to the display, and sometimes when i've pressed it it says 'no magazine' so it's obviously trying

I'll try disconnecting the battery when i get back from work tomorrow, unsure why it would be stuck...

Update: it's still in and refusing to come out

I've tried disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes and it wasn't interested, I then found fuse 40 is cd changer and have had it in and out 20 odd times, the changer's made all the right eject noises when power cycling but no joy

I've read on another forum that it's a good idea to hit the cassette with the handle of a screwdriver whilst ejecting, doesnt sound like a great idea to me but it might work

Other than that I'll be taking it apart, wish I'd checked it ejected before I bought it now! Sad

when you get it out you will notice on one of the cd trays has scoring where it has been trying to slide the tray back into the cassette and has got caught, this is what i found on my one,and if you do tap it with a screw driver handle it can some times release it,i bought a 2005 changer and hope its a mp3 one. V8 facelift Range Rover Autobiography 22" wheels.

Just a quick update, first tap of the screwdriver and out it popped, works spot on now! Happy days
