So, like tends to happen, my factory fit side steps are pretty much jiggered and rusted through.... they are crunching when I get in an out, so will shortly give way 🤣.

Should I replace with aluminium ones or steel ones?

I know the steel ones will be stronger.... but the aluminium ones won’t rust and rot again...

LRParts.net would appear to offer both versions at around the same price point, but they do say in their description that the more expensive version you mention is also alloy.

Personally on an older vehicle I would go with what works and looks OK now, ie LRParts.net £150 version (never had a problem with their service and patience over the phone).

Just ordered a pair of the below from LR Parts.....

They had some with missing bolts and fitting kit, which I don’t need, so got some for £150 plus VAT....

Lots of penetrating fluid, daily, for a week before you swap them, if they snap off they will be a PITA to sort...  Pete
