Found these bits about alarm immobilisation..... just in case it’s the alarm side of things causing issue. Don’t think that would say Code on the dash, but might help diagnosis?

I don’t think RAVE works with the latest updates to Windows 10, even in compatibility mode.

I’m not sure if there is a link to just a PDF of the Workshop Manual in the wiki.... ie without the automated RAVE bit.

Yeah something isn't right , but not that long since I last used it , but maybe after last update.

Why is it when you have used Rave for years and now I cannot use it now. Can anyone help , I have shifted the compatibility mode to WIN 7 and XP but still does work. Has anyone got a disc they dont need That I can buy and download the latest instr. to try as above in previous post.

Would anyone with their knowledge know if the Sat Nav is controlling the BCM FOR THE CODE , or is the BCM the problem and not accept the code for this interlock.

Emergency Deactivation doesnt work on ign 1 either, so probably the reason is countdown doesn't start.

Definitely something strange going on, which is why I’m wondering if it’s ECUs losing comms between each other. Never heard of this before... not helpful I know...

You will need an older PC/laptop to run RAVE mate, there was a thread on here about it. Unless you roll back your Windows 10 to a point it worked, and then don’t do any further updates.

I think there is a PDF available of the Workshop Manual and the Electrical Library, which may go some way to alleviate the RAVE issue.

I have put it out there to see if I can find someone locally using Nanocom.
Perhaps it might deactivate this interlock code.

That sounds like a plan. Can’t help thinking it’s something ECU related rather than sat nav etc. Beyond my knowledge now though I’m afraid.

I need more questions answered. If the Sat nav is required to input a personal code placed by someone in the past , and this code is lost , what is it communicating with , the BCM or the immobiliser. Does the immobiliser when it doesn't recognise the key chip allow the engine to turn but not fire up.
Or does it inhibit the starter altogether.
My point is this interlock code prevents the cracking of the engine as an extra security. Does the immobiliser chip in key do the same . If so then, the immobiliser would be the box to send away and cleared.

I think some of that is in the screenshots from the workshop manual.

It seems to have got itself into a right mess. The code entered for starting should only last until the car is started once, then it’s gone, ie you have to set it each time you leave the car, so if it’s ever started whilst you’ve had it, it will be gone and not stopping you starting... which is why after the things you’ve tried, I’m thinking ECU. It won’t be the sat nav, that just drives the screen display in the front. Not all cars have sat nav fitted, so the code will not be generated by that.

To add then the EWS may also be involved, does that not sit in the centre console beside the gearstick.

Just realised that is the Ecu immobiliser , but saying that this has a fixed code only recognised by the key , whereas the code entered each time you want can be anything and forgotten after the car starts.
So I'm thinking BCM?
