Quick way to ID Vision Assist.

Is there a photo somewhere showing the where the front and maybe side cameras are located for the vision assist. Just trying to get an idea if it is possible to see that a car has it fitted from external views/photos. I think it also comes with BLIS ? Does that use the the wing mirror and a warning light ?

This is about the only give away you maybe able to see in pictures, the front cameras are here...

TBH it's a bit of a waste of time, it takes many presses to set it up to see what you want to see, the picture is too distorted and gives little help in most scenarios...

You play with it when you get the fatty then just never bother.... Thumbs Up

Blind spot works well, it has a light in the mirror to warn you...

IMHO High beam assist is well worth it... Pete

Cameras under the wing mirrors are probably the easiest way to tell.

This was a must have feature when I was buying mine as we have it on our X-Trail and it's superb. The RR implementation is so clunky to use that I just don't bother.

It does add some interesting features to towing though, which I'm only beginning to find out about. 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE

I don't know if BLIS was a standalone option or only as part of vision assist but it's easy to spot a bliss mirror, it has a small section where the bliss icon lights up in the glass, hard to capture in a photo but easy to spot with the eye.

As already mentioned, the cameras are pretty easy to spot and as also mentioned, the 360 camera system isn't all it could be, nothing like today's 360's at all, still cool though given the age of my car

They are all independent and either all on screen at once in their own tiny windows or you can select either 1 or 2 to enlarge. As said, not hugely useful, perhaps if you're navigating a tight space, the two side cams enlarged is possibly handy. It's rare I rely on even the reverse camera to be fair.

Bliss itself is handy, the mirrors are huge and I don't find they have a big blindspot but good for picking up bikers that could easily fall into the blindspot area.

The high beam assist can be hit or miss in my experience. It's nice that it switches to main beam well but dipping isn't always a success, I find myself still preparing to dip manually to avoid the inevitable blasting from oncoming traffic when the system isn't quick enough to dip automatically and by doing that, it seems I then have to go back to main beam and dip once more manually to get the beam assist to go back to auto. All that faffing around makes it almost pointless.

I didn't buy my car on the basis of the tech fitted though, it just so happened that the right car came up and had a lot of toys fitted. If I had to buy again, my list of must haves would really only be active cruise and forward assist.

The acc works pretty well, sometimes does try to close up the gap pretty rapid around bends as the radar loses visibility of the car ahead, then can get heavy on the brakes as it picks up the car in front again. I don't like unessasar y braking like that but Im used to it now, preempting and rectifying that by hitting cancel until the radar has visibility again, then hit resume.

I also miss the adaptive headlights from my last car so that might make the list. I always thought it was a gimmick as I didn't feel I gained anything from it, right up until I didn't have it anymore 🙄

Think there must be something wrong with your high beam assist, mine is pretty spot on, only very rarely do I have to intervene, I'm impressed how it can recognise brake lights way way ahead and dip the lights.... maybe it can be calibrated... Pete

Interesting Haylands, admittedly I haven't done a huge amount of night driving, but I did for a while have a new Jag and also found that dipping wasn't quick enough, not so much with cars in my lane but slow to pickup oncoming traffic, which is where I find the RR behaving the same.
