Hi all, quick 405 question - is the standard "console cooler compartment" any good ? or to put it another way is the refrigerator worth £245 quid ?  2021 P400 Silicon Silver AB

I don't know how good the cooler is, as mine has the fridge. It cools ambient drinks down pretty quickly and I use it quit a bit, so it's a box I'd tick if ordering a new car. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

The cooler compartment keeps drinks fairly cool except in weather like last week. If you want really cool drinks all year round the the fridge is best bet but it doesn't cool unless the engine is running (or at least it didn't when I had one in my Disco 4's).

I think it'll be a must have if the weather keeps getting warmer though. Stan's point about cans rattling around is a good one You need to keep the compartment full as it is bloody annoying if you don't! All LR cars from 1984

Mine doesn't work so I use it as a cool box, I put stuff in the fridge first and it stays a bit cold for longer. But is is annoying having the odd can rattling around in there. Sometimes I add an ice pack from the freezer it also helps., all in all just like a "normal" cool box Maybe I should fix it, I'me never sure what the difference is between "a fridge" and "a cooler" I've always assumed they are the same - maybe not. I just know mine has a switch that does nothing more than illuminate a green light to say its on - it isn't Geoff
