I had a fabulous year with an 07 L322 3 years ago. Unfortunately, it was also fabulously expensive to maintain and at the time it was starting to play on my mind that perhaps I needed something a little more reliable (not that it ever failed to get me to a job).

I then decided to lease a V90 for 3 years and ever since the L322 departed, I knew I’d done the wrong thing and I’ve always dreamed of owning another Range Rover since.

My main priorities when searching were to buy from a main dealer for the warranty and to be 2015 or newer. Unfortunately, both my local main dealers wanted me to commit to buying an approved used before test driving. Naturally, this put me off from buying from a main dealer, particularly given the terrible feedback some get in regards to servicing and the like.

It did however mean I had more choice and better specs for my budget which, with some frankly incredible man-maths means I now find myself the very proud owner of a 2016 Vogue SE SDV8. The dealer (PM Car Sales were fantastic, they gave it an 80k service instead of the 60 it was due, sorted some bits I wanted doing and even drove it to a specialist to have it inspected for me (I organised it, specialist came back to me!).

Other than a deployable tow bar and 360 cameras it is my ideal spec. Although, I’ll be the first to admit that it is a little too jiggly on the 22’s for my line of work.

It has deployable steps, split pano, rear entertainment, winged massage seats, HUD, FBH, alston headlining, blah blah
