Windscreen replacement

I thought I would share my positive experience of Autoglass.
I’ve read some negativity regarding AG using substandard glass etc.

Although my screen wasn’t cracked, I wasn’t happy with the numerous chips and in particular, one large one in front of the passengers line of sight.
The supplying dealer agreed to use their insurance and have it replaced.
I insisted on an original replacement glass.
I arrived at their work place today and confirmed that the glass was Pilkington.
It was exactly the same spec but didn’t have Range Rover stamped on it.
They did a great job.
Thumbs up to AG.

A few years ago I had 2 windscreens swapped by Autoglass in 6 months. They were great. No problems. MY23 D350 HSE

Good to hear, having mine replaced next week by AG after a stone chip has lead to a large crack (just 2 weeks into ownership too!).

Make sure you insist on Pilkington glass Dean, as iv'e heard they will sometimes fit a lower spec screen....

Wish I knew which windshield is both heated and heat reflective (if such a thing exists for the current RR) as it's the thing I miss most from my L322... Tried to convince the Pilkington guys to find one when mine was replaced last year, but they couldn't find a code for one...

Mine has the heat reflective windscreen, they call it solar attenuating glass if that helps. Not getting the right windscreen was what worried me when I got a chip in mine, as it really does make a difference when it’s warm, but thankfully they were able to repair it. The AG guy did tell me they had a depot a couple of miles from where I live which has all the right kit to reset/programme cameras after a screen is fitted so that does give me some comfort. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

This was my original screen.

My replacement is exactly the same apart from the Range Rover stamp.
I waited over three weeks for the specified screen or i could have had a different screen fitted within 48 hours.
Cameras all reset at the depot, they even replaced the sticky pad on my dash cam.
They do have to take it for a drive to check everything works.

Another vote for Autoglass. Two very experienced fitters did a very good job on mine last Friday, taking 90 minutes. Very careful to ensure car not marked, screen properly placed etc. New A pillar covers and top seal. I asked for a Pilkington screen and had to wait four weeks but non issue for me as only a small crack. Was pleased to get Pilkington with a Land Rover oval. I got it done at home which I would recommend as you can chat away with the team while it is happening (which they were happy to do).

@PaulB

This does worry me, but I’ve been assured that it will be a proper match with the solar attenuating laminate/film/wizardry

Thought I should report back from a trip AG today. They were incredibly helpful, but the glass was a Chinese brand and it was scratched in 2 places on the inside.

Re-ordered proper glass and should be ready in 2 weeks….
