Driver Power 2011

Out of 34 manufacturers Land Rover have fallen 13 places to 26th this year. Shocked
They make some great cars, but something must be going wrong. Drivers don't seem too impressed about something.

too many faults for the price of the car - dreadful dealer back up (pants down etc when charging) - believe me when i say Tata are appalled - they demand change but until the 'old guard' are gone there is little hope

Tata are infuriated with the dealer network - in their 'ideal' world they would own all dealerships and get rid of this dross

a dealer who makes and sells the cars and maintains cars - best all round

FFS have to recall 2011 cars because they can't even supply the correct battery says it all

i love the car but wish it was made by Porsche Smile

United Kingdom 2002 Range Rover HSE Td6 Adriatic Blue

I heard yesterday that there is a massive overhaul of land rover dealerships. The chap I was speaking to didnt go into depth regarding the changes that are afoot but sounded positive. FFRR TD6 HSE

long overdue

get rid of the dross and start again - and consign the arrogant staff members to selling Russian tractors!

God how i hate RR dealerships Evil or Very Mad

goes back over 20 years!

as a friend once said - 'you walk in the door and the staff give you the impression that they have done you a favour by selling you a range rover'!

bit like Sytner BMW and my friends Ferrari Testarossa (thats another story but it came back to haunt Sytners)

Yes, Sytner are so bad - particularly BMW/MINI. But, bought a Porsche for my wife from Porsche Centre Silverstone which are part of the Sytner Group and they were good. Exception to the rule I think...

over the years i've owned a lot of cars from mini's to ferrari

but no main dealers have been a patch on Porsche

though to be fair GKN Ford in mansfield are very good and better than any RR dealer - fit parts like mirrors etc foc - customers services say 'its about customer service' - learn something landrover!

that must be an exception to the rule?

i've had them back to the old days inc carrera RS etc when they were real drivers cars - downhill in the wet and they changed ends!

had a turbo with the whale tail too! - wish i'd kept that car as an investment

Porsche in many ways (like landrover) devalued the marque with the 924/944/928 etc

though i had a 944s which was brilliant

and landrover continue to devalue the marque with the toy 'evoque' etc - bad enough having a rr on a defender base Laughing

In my (almost year) of Porsche ownership, I haven't been anything but impressed with the way issues are resolved. The dealerships are brilliant and have a service which matches their product.

One of the problems with crap dealerships is that many are parts of huge combines that don't want to know about customer service - and it isn't necessarily the shopfloor staff but the people higher up who are only interested in turnover and targets and to hell with customer service we have to shift so much stock/ make so much percentage.

It was never so bad when dealerships were family owned - they had to be good to their customers because they couldn't afford to get a bad name - it meant the end of their livelihood. Maybe if some of those at the top of these big chains of dealers came down to the shopfloor and saw how clients are treated at some dealerships they might have more interest (and bigger turnover/ profits) 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

997 Turbo new from the factory - even the PCM was built upside down ! , 14 faults in 5000 miles , 9 weeks at dealers in 15 months.

997 GT3 4 weeks in first 12 weeks back at dealers inc back to Porsche UK

Porsche Boxster S 1 x engine , 2 gearboxes in 18 k miles plus a list of other faults inc failed cats at 10k miles

had a 996 Turbo was solid
a 996 C4s that a had just a few niggles

all the problems have been in the last 3 years on new cars Far to many gone...
