So much better to be replacing suspension air bags, turbo's, doing turbo drain mods and the list goes on. Of course it's easy to create a video to make a point but it is the exception rather than the rule.

Please do keep driving your dinosaur tear powered car, it keeps cash going into the government which in turn gives me free road tax, thank you! BMW i3 Electric Car

Don’t think your free road tax will last that long, they will tax all electric cars exactly the same way they tax diesel and petrol ones in a few years 2012 Range Rover Westminster 4.4 TDV8

You're probably right about the road tax, they may well charge the same as ICE, oops, just a minute, low emission vehicles are free, they've started already Rolling with laughter BMW i3 Electric Car

At least you don’t need to worry about the availability of fast chargers when you own an i3….. Very Happy MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

You can rationalise it all you want but they make an awful lot of sense for an awful lot of people. Zero road tax is a bonus. 300+ mpg equivalent is not bad either. Along with low servicing costs and free fuel in lots of places. 2016 Skoda Octavia VRS Estate

Doesn’t the i3 only charge at 50kwh? Plenty of those chargers around (which I know are referred to as fast chargers, but I disagree) compared to the 150kwh and faster chargers which is where I think the charging starts to get to an acceptable speed. If an i3 charges at 150kwh, I take it back! Smile

Just my view based on how I use a car, which is very rarely for short journeys, most are 200 miles+

I can see myself in an electric car in the future but I don’t want one now. Even though opting back into the company car scheme and getting a model 3 performance (as an example because there are loads at work, I don’t like them) would save me £1,000 a month vs the RR or at least £300if I sold my wife’s car and kept the RR alongside a company car. If I could get a Taycan Sport Turismo and it had a proper 300+ mile range I might think differently. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Max charge rate on the i3 is 43kw per hour, that isn’t the whole story though. I average 5.1 miles per kw, 43kw charger adds range at the rate of 220 miles per hour. Most other EV’s don’t achieve that sort of efficiency, many down at 3.5 miles per Kw. I find a coffee stop usually puts between 80 and 100 miles dependent on the queue at the coffee shop. Most of the time I charge home while I’m asleep at a cost of 5p per Kw making my fuel cost 1p per mile 😊 BMW i3 Electric Car

It is impressive efficiency and a very low cost per mile. But it’s a very small car, so it should be efficient. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

Its not that small a car, I'm 6'6" tall and have weight to match and frankly there's more room in the front of it than my L322. The carbon fibre construction, tyres designed for the car and many other features make the efficiency. BMW i3 Electric Car

It’s pretty much the same length as a Polo. Having a bespoke platform meant BMW could use the space well, so it’s much more spacious inside than a Polo….as you know, but it’s still a small car.

I like the i3, it was way ahead of its time and if I lived in a large city (not that I would), it would make a very good 3rd car for running around in.

My 750i had a carbon core and it weighed a lot less than you’d think for a 5m long car with a 4.4 twin turbo V8 and if you kept it to 80mph on the motorway it would easily do 40mpg, sounded great too. But unfortunately it wouldn’t fit 2 x 6 foot plus teenagers and a toddler in the back comfortably (width and centre seat headroom), so I traded it for my current car. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid

I would agree with the larger section of small car, but not a very small car as you stated earlier. I used to have a Smart fortwo years ago, that was a very small car.
From a performance perspective not a lot can touch it from the lights to 30, after 30 you're fair game but it is shockingly quick off the mark.

Just be very careful with the Leaf, the battery management aint so good, be very careful with rapid charging if it has the option. 80% cut off manually is good for these too. BMW i3 Electric Car
