So one of my clients has a 65 plate 4.4 AB which he bought on my recommendation last year - it went in yesterday to the supplying LR main dealer for some refurb. work on the alloys and to be given a health check in advance of the 60month/80k service - its only done about 30k though. He also reported a bit of a whine at speed.

Dealers are hurting at the moment, I expect we will see more and more of this as they try to claw back money, only a few will question them, so as usual, they will get away with it...

You don't run most of my fleet without being on first name terms with a good indy and knowing where to get good quality cost-effective parts from - my 2004 L322 has over 200k on the clock and still in daily service.

I paid £315 at an Indi specialist for an 80k service. They even updated Topix. |

I have actually just been back and watched the service video from our 80k service, often our MD starts the video by showing the parts on the bench to be changed in this case I can confirm they at least had the right oil on the bench ready
I think they are wise to this sentiment now, the video's we get tend to show the work in progress so parts on the bench ready which the technician calls out what's what and then the car on the ramp with either the drain plugs out or whatever the part is removed. Like so: At first I kinda rubbished the video's, but now I kinda like them. We had a issue with the EGT Sensor and the video from the health check gave some useful / intresting insight into the diagnosis the technician went through the various things it could be and how he ruled out each one etc. Also handy for when someone on a forum makes you question if you have the right oil in the car thanks for that @nicksaab Our's is under a fixed price service plan so unusual for them to do something they didn't need to Btw.. don't think I am defending main dealer behaviour here, I have my own issues with them Spec's: https://topix.landrover.jlrext.com/topix/s...fef/en_GB? Really interesting that TJH - funnily enough I didn't get the video on my service last year - the car was in the dealership for 7 weeks - you can read the full saga in my My Range Rover post https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/topic40798-90.html and conveniently the video had already been 'deleted' when I started to question things.

It’s in that list though nbunney? Unless we have our wires crossed here and are talking about different things.
