I have accidentally left my sunroof opened twice this week when I have locked it up and walked away.

Similarly, when you come back to the car to a roasting hot interior because it’s been parked in full sun, if you keep the unlock button pressed all windows and sunroof will open to let out the heat buildup. |

I suppose if he can remember to do that, he can remember to close the sunroof..... I’ve not heard of total closure in recent times. I had it on my BMW’s but folk worry it might trap something if closing unattended. 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Does this override the auto relock though? I could just go and try it, I know, but I was wondering if they would all close again after a minute if a door isn't opened? 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE |

They do have total closure, but it changed (With BMW at least) in the late nineties. It used to be that you only had to hold the lock button for a couple of seconds then you could walk away and it would carry on the global lock process until complete, but as you rightly surmise, too many little kiddies were getting their fingers trapped in closing windows and closing convertible roofs so they took the decision to change it so that you have to hold the button down throughout the whole procedure. The thinking being is that if you're holding the button the car will be in full view of you. On a separate, but similar note, one touch closure of the sunroof was deleted (Again in the late nineties and again with BMW) because there was an instance of a woman with long hair getting sucked out of the sunroof as it closed resulting in a loss of control. Though I must admit I never tried closing the sunroof on my RR via one-touch, not least because I never dared to open it in case it broke! |

I’m pretty sure my sunroof shuts with a quick press on the sunroof button. Not the key fob though.

At this time of year, remote starting the car 10mins before I want to get in it via the app is fantastic, just as good as the FBH in winter. Along with the solar glass (inc windscreen on my car) which does a good job keeping the interior cooler than you'd expect then the cooled seats when you get in, it's great. Global open/close has been a feature of cars I've had for 15 years, even the one that didn't have a remote, so you held the key in the lock or unlock position. I'm pretty sure my L405 closes the sunroof on one long press of the lock button, but not 100% sure. MY23 Panamera E-Hybrid MY19 SDV8 Autobiography - Sold |

The L405 is probably set up different to the L322.
